Services Overview

The East Tamaki Workshops are important support services. All the workshops are ISO 9001 certified and supply specialised repair, maintenance and fabrication services to the construction and heavy engineering industries throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific Basin. Having maintained their own heavy earth moving plant and equipment for over 60 years, they currently maintain over 400 pieces of mobile equipment for themselves and other contractors.

Welding Shop

Staff are certified to NZS4711 and have access to a wide variety of welding processes, including sub-arc welding, and sophisticated profiling and plasma cutting. They also have a variety of punching metal fabrication machines. Services include mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium alloy fabrication, field and site welding, maintenance, shutdowns and emergency services, truck and crusher/barmac repairs. Machine Shop

This shop does jobbing work for maintenance of transport, heavy construction plant and production machinery. Services include general jobbing and lathe work up to 1.2 metres swing x 4.5 metres long, milling and boring 2 x 1.8 metres, line boring, facing, drilling and tapping, internal and external grinding, lapping up to 500mm diameter flat surface, CNC machining, cylindrical grinding and roll reclamation. Hydraulic Workshop

Specialists in rebuilding and modification of hydraulic cylinders. Services include honing up to 1.0 metre diameter, large capacity stripping, assembly and testing. They have full machining facilities including horizontal bores, teach lathe, welding and large capacity torque multipliers. Grinding, chroming and painting services are also available. Truck Shop

This one-stop-shop service, repairs and overhauls trucks and trailers, transmission, steering, suspension and brake units. Services include everything from preventative maintenance through to total overhauls, fleet service programmes, COFs, pre-checks and WOF issuing. It also has a drive-through lube bay, a parts service, an after-hours service and a 24-hour breakdown service. For more information click here.

Heavy Plant Shop

The plant specialises in fast and efficient servicing of earth-moving plant, drill rigs, crushing and screening plant, as well as heavy production and processing machinery. Services include maintenance and overhaul, full field service, lubrication, recovery, repairs and machine rebuilds. For more information click here.

Engine Overhaul and Dynamometer

The factory trained diesel mechanics are familiar with most makes and types of engines. They perform Dyno testing up to 1000 horsepower at up to 5000 RPM, and issue Certificates of Performance listing RPM, HP/Torque, manifold and oil pressures, water temperatures and other vital data. Other services include overhaul of diesel engines, turbochargers, powershifts, semi-auto and automatic transmissions, as well as automotive, marine and industrial engine testing. Waste Bin Manufacture

Specialising in building solid waste bins starting with a 1.5 cubic metre FEl bin, through to large "Hook Load" and "Compactor" type bins with a 30 cubic metre capacity. For more information click here.

Aerator Manufacture

The use of cage rotor Aerators is rapidly gaining wide acceptance as an efficient and economical method of treating effluent that is discharged into oxidation ponds.
