Bill is the Steltech Manager at Stevenson Engineering Site in Takinini
, where he manages a team of 10 who are involved in the production of Structural Beams for NZ Steel.
Bill has over 35 years of experience in the industry stretching all throughout New Zealand, Australia and even Papua New Guinea, and ever since he joined us 3 and a half years ago, Bill has put his knowledge to good use by making sure the weld shop runs like a well-oiled machine.
The amount and variety of work that comes through the weld shop changes daily, and it’s a challenge that tests Bill’s knowledge and experience.
“Days aren’t typical here. You come in with a plan, and five minutes later, that plan changes. There’s a lot of variety, so everyone who works here has to be adaptable and ready to work on another job at a moment’s notice.”
Bill believes that the key to Stevenson Engineering’s success lies with the highly skilled tradespeople we have, and the range of knowledge available in the workshop.
“I’ve been in the industry for a long time, and speaking from experience, the people here at Stevenson Engineering are a very clever bunch of people, and some of the most talented people I’ve worked with.”
